Those kickstands can be tricky on Harley's u can def ride with it all the way down and locked

I love watching these videos as we all do but 70% of me always thinks this is ridiculous really how can you ride with full attention whilst dicking around and talking shit as you ride.. My favourite part is his mate who is literally only thinking fucking hell glad it wasnt me looking like a total bellend 😂. And the sales girls obvious lack of giving a shit also proves that because these are now so fucking cheaply mass produced its not a problem just swapping out the damaged parts and sending it back out on the shop floor. For sheer your talking total bollocks the harley guy showing this tool that like all motorcycles kick stand will kill the power when down is well just fucking hilarious !! I would take this down if it was me way to embarrassing to watch.....

Counter steering is a thing.
The steering DID NOT lock!!! That's ridiculous.
What we have here is a first time HD Fatbob rider who isn’t used to the fatter front wheel and steering feel. At the scene of the self-induced accident he blames the steering lock for miraculously kicking in for absolutely no reason (never ever happened on any HD I’ve ridden). Then, back at the dealership and still ego-wounded he explains to the staff at the dealership that the side stand dropped down and caused him to tip over to the left. Take ownership for your accident dude. 100% rider error and nothing to do with the motorcycle mechanicals. Suggestion: stick to bikes you can handle dude. Try a push bike till you gain some skills. 🤡

@@MercerVisualProductions not really hilarious, I wasn’t trying to clown you but if you’re a new rider then start on something smaller. You could’ve really hurt yourself, without sounding like a jerk that accident kinda looked like human error. Try something smaller. You’ll be happier.

@@MercerVisualProductions bro, you fell over on it and I didn’t suggest it was too much for your buddy, he didn’t fall over. You gotta take this one on the chin homeboy. It wasn’t something on the road or a bike malfunction, it was too much for you to handle. You seemed like a new rider (which we all were at one time) but you have to own your crash, which you did due to not enough riding experience. It was as plain as day watching you ride that you’re new. It’s not biggie and I’m glad you’re ok.
So, a couple things for ya: 1. First you said pothole 2. Handlebars locked up 3. Side stand (kickstand) came down Now, together let’s debunk this…. 1. There was no pothole 2. You have to physically insert the key to lock the handlebars, it would be the first case ever in motorcycle history for bars to mysteriously lock without a key 3. Side stand, welp this almost goes without saying for 2 reasons: The first is the kickstand could physically never come down if the bike is in forward motion and 2. There is an engine cut off if the kickstand isn’t all the way in “off” position. Thats physics. Lastly, that Harley weighs more than what you rode in on. I checked the factory weight on both. So again, I go back to “get a smaller bike”. Now with all that being said I’m gonna tell you why you crashed. You hit the front brakes only when going around that slight bend, you slid a little bit and the front tire locked up due to you hitting the front brakes only and the bike fell down. lol, we’ve all been there at some point the difference is your time was on video and we all got to see exactly what happened. I’m pretty sure your riding buddy also knew what exactly happened but didn’t was to hurt your feelings. Ride safe bro, you can definitely come back from this. My 5’2 wife has a Busa and she had some trouble with wheelies the first day she got it. Everyone has to learn. I mean, she didn’t drop it but it took her an hour to get it right.

Most motorcycles have a kickstand failsafe if the kickstand comes down, the engine cuts off if it's in gear. My riding buddy has had 3 different harley models & it's never happened to him, I ride a Victory Vegas 8ball & a kickstand fail has never happened. Although I've inadvertently tried to pull down a lamp post when I've forgotten that I chained my pride & joy to it. So i assume it was human error why he laid his rental baby down. I hope he didn't hurt himself too much.

I agree, it looked like he tried to turn the bars to the right to turn right but the countersteering made the bike lean to the left then fall over.

I had a bike that did this to me. It turned out to be a front brake that was partially engaged. Not completely, just to some extent. So when I was going straight I had enough traction to overcome the brake resistance to keep the wheel turning. When I leaned over a bit on a curve that wasn't perfectly clean the drag on the front wheel was significant enough that it stopped turning and I went down. Plus new tires don't have great grip which probably added to the problem.

My guess you hit that dip on the road and panicked, or you were distracted doing something on your bike before you went down.
Probably should have learned the basics before buying a bike. If you crashed that easily you probably won’t make it as a rider.
It’s ridiculous how many fools who can’t ride go and buy a big bike first up. Everyone should learn to ride dirt bikes first. It should be mandatory for anyone getting a motorcycle license …
You have to do THREE tests in the UK to ride a bike like this. A theory test, a module 1 test (off road around cones), and a module 2 test on the road with an examiner following.
Must have paid off the examiner $$
I feel your pain. Dropped my brand new bike just last week. Was making a right turn at a stop sign and accelerated too quick like a complete idiot on brand new, cold tires just after getting off work. Bike will likely be in the shop for the next couple months until KTM can come up with the replacement parts. Stay safe!

I have one-a 2020 and it is really great. I really enjoy driving it. I agree with much of what you said. I have not tried the launch thingy. Maybe if it gets warm again soon-but I like to just hit the throttle off the line. Well, thanks.
